Scientific name : Eurema hecabe
Common Grass Yellow always prefer to fly near the ground and around small plants and grass. They do not open wings on any occasion when sitting. Most of the time they sit on the underside of the leaves to avoid hot sun and rain. This is a migratory species. This butterfly is commonly seen within the college campus in open vegetation like grass and small shrubs or gardens. Like the name, its body is yellow in colour. the shape of the outer margin is not completely round in the forewing or hind wing. There is black, broad, irregular outer marking on the forewing. The underside of the wing has various black mark with a yellow centre.
