Scientific name : Copsychus saularis
Oriental magpie-robin is found on the campus close to human habitats. They prefer open areas of the campus and garden. The male bird has glossy blue-black upperparts, head, throat and upper breast. The tail is long black with white feathers. The wing is black with two long white strips. underparts of the bird and the sides of the tail feathers are white in colour. This bird has seen building nests in almost anywhere from thick shrubs, trees, hole in the wall, electrical pols etc. They have melodious calls and are seen to imitate other bird calls.
