• Medicinal Uses:

• • It is used as a rejuvenator for brain and nervous system.

  • Rhizomes of the plant are widely used in the treatment of number of ailments such as epilepsy, mental ailments, chronic diarrhoea, dysentery, fever, abdominal tumours, kidney and liver troubles, and rheumatism.

  • In traditional medicine, it is used as a mouth muscle stimulant for babbling toddlers to help them speak.

  • The rhizome is chewed as a masticatory to clear the voice and powdered to flavour snuffs.
